How Acrium works.

How to connect the AI you already use to Acrium, what it can do once connected (Google Ads, posting, your store and phone calls), how you stay in control, and the rest: agents that run on Acrium, custom connectors and the public API.

Overview

Acrium plugs the AI you already use into your business. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Meta AI (Muse), Cursor or Claude Code to Acrium's MCP server and that AI gets real tools: it can run your Google Ads, post and schedule to your social accounts, manage your Shopify store and inventory, and, on Connect + Voice, make and answer phone calls. Your AI does the thinking; Acrium does the doing, and holds anything that can start or raise ad spend for your approval.

A workspace is your business. You connect the accounts it uses (Google Ads, Shopify, your social accounts) in the Acrium dashboard, then connect your AI. The AI works as you, in the workspaces you pick, with the permissions you leave on.

Rather not bring your own AI? Acrium can also run agents for you on an agent plan.

Connect your AI

Acrium is an MCP server. Add it to any app that speaks MCP and ask that app, in plain English, to do the work. The setup guide has step-by-step instructions for Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Meta AI (Muse) and other apps, and takes about five minutes.

Server address:

https://acriumautomated.com/mcp

Connect with sign-in (Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, Muse, Cursor, most desktop apps)

  1. In your AI app, add a custom connector (or MCP server) and paste the address above.
  2. The app sends you to Acrium. Sign in if you aren't already.
  3. Pick the workspaces it may work in, or All my workspaces, which also covers ones you create or join later. The first one you tick is where it starts.
  4. Untick any permission you don't want it to have. Everything you hold is on by default except Approve agent actions: that stays with a person unless you tick it on purpose.
  5. Approve. The app is connected; it refreshes its own sign-in from then on.

Claude's free plans allow one custom connector. In ChatGPT, OpenAI currently lists full write access through custom connectors for Business, Enterprise and Edu plans.

Connect with a token (Claude Code, scripts)

For apps that take a fixed header, make a personal token in the dashboard under Settings → API → AI apps (MCP) → Make a token instead, or from the setup guide. Same permission toggles; it covers the current workspace or all of them, and doesn't expire until you disconnect it.

claude mcp add --transport http acrium https://acriumautomated.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer acrm_mcp_pat_..."

Working in more than one workspace

One connection covers every workspace you gave it. list_projects shows each one and what the app may change there. Every tool takes an optional project_id; leave it out and the tool uses the default workspace, which switch_project changes.

What your AI can do

Three things it couldn't do before, plus the plumbing that makes them useful.

  • Ads (Google Ads)

Creates campaigns, ad groups, search and display ads and keywords, sets geo targeting, reads campaign stats, and pauses or enables campaigns. Anything that can start or raise spend waits for your approval; pausing never waits. On Connect.

  • Connect: posting

Posts and schedules to TikTok, YouTube, X, Pinterest, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Threads and LinkedIn. On Connect.

  • Connect: store and inventory

Shopify products, discounts, photos, orders and reports, plus inventory and SKU sync. On Connect.

  • Calling

A real phone number for the workspace. Your AI places calls from a brief, and incoming calls are answered with instructions you set. Transcripts come back to your AI. On Connect + Voice.

  • Notes and attention queue

Shared business notes any of your AIs can read and add to, and one queue for what happened since the last check-in: new orders, comments, low stock, calls and finished renders.

  • Video and voiceovers

The auto video editor cuts captioned short videos from your footage. AI voiceovers on Connect + Voice.

  • Roles

Named seats your AIs take, each with a mailbox, so they can message each other and you.

  • Your agents, too

On an agent plan, your AI can also check on Acrium's agents, read their logs and change their settings.

Permissions

Reads work on any connection. Writes depend on the permissions you left on, and are checked again on every call against what you hold in that workspace right now:

PermissionWhat the app can do
Manage agentsPost and schedule, upload media, make videos and voiceovers, manage roles; on an agent plan, create, edit, start, stop and delete agents.
Manage integrationsGoogle Ads changes, the phone number, placing calls and inbound call instructions; disconnect an integration.
Manage inventoryShopify products and photos; create, edit and delete inventory items, adjust stock, add and remove SKU aliases.
Manage ordersShopify discounts and price rules; mark orders complete.
Manage settingsBusiness notes, company description, Approval Gate, test mode, comment notifications, overview layout.
Approve agent actionsApprove or deny held actions (never TikTok posts).
Manage billingSet the budget, dismiss budget notes, delete budget entries.
Manage membersAdd and remove members, change their permissions, titles and visibility.

Left out on purpose: payments, API keys, making MCP tokens, deleting your account or a workspace, transferring ownership, Klio, and connecting integrations (those need a browser sign-in).

Your limits are its limits. A connection never does more than the person who made it. Take a permission off a member and their AI apps lose it immediately. A view-only member's app is read-only. Resetting your password disconnects all your AI apps. Disconnect any of them from Settings → API → AI apps (MCP).

Plans

PlanWhat's in it
Connect: free for 7 days, then $9.99/monthGoogle Ads, posting and scheduling, Shopify, inventory and SKU sync, notes, the attention queue, the auto video editor and Roles. 30 minutes a month of video rendering, 5 GB storage. Your own AI does the thinking, so no AI credits are needed.
Connect + Voice: free for 7 days, then $29.99/monthEverything in Connect, plus a real phone number for calls both ways and AI voiceovers. 12,000 AI credits a month pay for calls and voiceovers (1,000 during the free trial). 60 minutes a month of video rendering, 20 GB storage.

Monthly, cancel any time. Setting up your account is free. Create an account or open the setup guide.

Staying in control

  • Ad spend waits for you. Anything that can start or raise ad spend waits for the owner's approval in the dashboard, whichever AI asked. Pausing never waits.
  • Approval Gate. On by default for every outgoing action type: emails, posts, ad changes, product and discount edits, calls, VM jobs. Held actions wait under Pending actions until you approve or deny them, and the owner gets an email when something is waiting (at most one every few hours). You can loosen the gate per action type. TikTok posts always need a person's approval; that's TikTok's rule.
  • Test mode. Nothing goes out.
  • Members. Invite people with full control, admin, member or view-only access. Their AI apps can never do more than they can.
  • Switches. On an agent plan, turn any agent off, or any tool off for one agent, at any time.

Agents on Acrium

Prefer to have Acrium do the work without bringing your own AI? On an agent plan, you switch on agents that live on Acrium. Each agent works like an employee, not a chatbot: it has a job described in plain English, runs in the background, decides what to do next, does it with the tools it has, and logs everything it did.

Every workspace starts with a built-in team: a manager plus specialists for ads, social media, email and outreach, and customer support. Edit, pause or delete any of them, or ask Klio, the chat assistant the dashboard opens on, to design new ones. Klio never does anything you couldn't do yourself, and by default it describes a change and waits for your OK.

You pick how smart each agent is from three intelligence levels. Agent work is paid for in AI credits that come with your plan each month; smarter levels use them faster, and agents pause when they run out rather than charging you more.

Agents' tools

An agent can only use the tools for accounts you've connected, and you can switch any tool off per agent.

  • Social media

Posts to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Threads and Bluesky, and replies to comments on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn and Bluesky.

  • Video

Cuts short videos from your uploaded clips and photos. Voiceover and subtitles on Team and up.

  • Gmail

Sends email, and with the optional inbox connection reads and replies to it.

  • Google Ads

Creates campaigns, ad groups, search and display ads and keywords, sets geo targeting, reads performance, and pauses or enables campaigns. New campaigns start paused.

  • Shopify

Creates, updates, publishes and deletes products, adds product photos, creates discounts, and reads orders.

  • Inventory

Built-in stock tracking with SKU aliases and low-stock thresholds, on Team and up.

  • Slack

Posts in your channels, sends DMs and reads what your team says.

  • Web search

Looks things up before writing: prices, news, a competitor's offer.

  • Reminders and routines

One-off reminders, or hourly, daily and weekly routines.

  • Budget tracking

Logs spend and recurring costs against your budget, and flags ad spend it hasn't logged.

  • Teamwork

Agents message each other, share a team notepad, and can start a short-lived helper or add an agent within your plan's limit.

  • Media library

Uses the photos and clips you upload and saves what it makes back there.

  • Phone calls

A business line your agents answer, and outgoing calls. Scale and up.

  • A computer of its own

For jobs a chat box can't do (editing footage, building a motion-graphics video, running code), an agent hands the work to a temporary agent inside its own VM. Scale and up.

  • Custom connectors

Any tool with an MCP server. See Custom connectors.

Acrium doesn't run Meta or TikTok ads, and it doesn't reorder or restock products.

Custom connectors: give your agents any MCP tool

The other direction. Under Connections → Add custom connector, paste the address of any remote MCP server. If it needs a sign-in, Acrium runs it for you. Your agents can then use that server's tools.

You decide what each tool may do:

  • Always allow: the agent runs it on its own.
  • Needs approval: the call waits under Pending actions, with its arguments shown, until you approve it.
  • Blocked: agents never see it.

New tools start at Needs approval, except ones the server marks read-only. You can also switch connectors off per agent, and test mode simulates every call that isn't read-only.

Public API

A small key-authenticated API for pulling your own store data into your own code: your inventory, all of it or one SKU at a time, with just the columns you ask for.

  1. In the dashboard, go to Settings → API and click Generate. The key is shown once, so copy it then. Revoke or regenerate it there any time.
  2. Send a POST to https://acriumautomated.com/api/v1/ with your api_id (shown next to the key), the key, a request_type and the data you want.
curl -X POST https://acriumautomated.com/api/v1/ \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "api_id": "123",
    "api_key": "acrm-...",
    "request_type": "grab_single_inventory",
    "requested_data": ["WIDGET-1", "sku", "quantity", "price"]
  }'

Every request type, column and error code is in the full API reference.

Want to change things rather than read them, or work across workspaces? Use the MCP server, from your AI or with a personal token, instead.
